Every platform gets attacked differently.

The abuse types are the same everywhere. Which ones matter most, and how they show up, depends on what your platform does.

Online marketplaces and communities

Marketplaces get attacked from both sides of a transaction. We test account takeover on buyer and seller accounts, and we test listing fraud — fake inventory, misrepresented goods, prices that don't match what's delivered. Review manipulation is its own abuse type: fake five-star ratings prop up bad actors while real complaints get buried underneath them. Collusion rings coordinate dozens of accounts at once to look like organic activity. Refund and dispute abuse shows up wherever buyers and sellers can disagree about what happened, so we test whether your resolution process can be gamed the same way an abuser would try.

  • Collusion rings
  • Refund and dispute abuse

Booking, rental, and service platforms

Booking and rental platforms move money against real-world assets. That makes payout diversion the sharpest edge — we test whether a destination can be swapped without triggering a verification step. Onboarding and identity checks get tested against fake or stolen identities trying to list or book in the first place. Both sides also have an incentive to avoid your fees, so we test off-platform diversion too: how easily a conversation moves off-platform before it ever converts through you.

  • Payout diversion
  • Onboarding and identity (KYC)
  • Off-platform diversion
  • Chargebacks and payment risk

SaaS and subscription businesses

Subscription businesses leak revenue in a few predictable ways. The same person claims a trial or referral bonus over and over. A canceled account keeps using paid features because nobody checked. A chargeback gets filed after the value's already been consumed. We test whether your access controls catch the first two, and whether promo logic can be looped by anyone motivated enough to try.

  • Promo and referral abuse
  • Account takeover
  • Chargebacks and payment risk

E-commerce and digital services

E-commerce runs into payment risk at checkout, refund abuse after delivery, and chargebacks that show up regardless of what happened. We test whether stolen-card patterns get caught before a package ships. We test whether refund windows can be gamed by the same requester twice. And we look at whether manual review is catching the cases that matter, or just buried under everything else.

  • Chargebacks and payment risk
  • Refund and dispute abuse
  • Promo and referral abuse

The same testing applies beyond platforms that move money directly — organizations like multi-location childcare groups and in-home service providers run on trust that's just as easy to abuse from the inside. We test employee access, payment handling across locations, and how sensitive records move, the same way we'd test a marketplace. This doesn't substitute for legal, licensing, or regulatory-compliance review specific to your industry.
